Fernando Alonso Wins Japanese Grand Prix (surfing)
No commentsBy Roger Munns
Fernando Alonso accomplished a hard-won victory at this year’s Japanese Grand Prix. Immediately after the race, Alonso said, “I cannot believe it right now and back-to-back wins is a great feeling. It is completely amazing.” He went on to say, “We were second when we stopped for the first time and I wanted to exit the pits in front of Robert.”
Championship Title Leaders Battle it Out
Formula One championship title rivals Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa made minor mistakes and were each penalized for different reasons during the course of the race. Hamilton had a rough start as he was defending his starting pole position from Kimi Raikkonen. He broke too late for the first corner. The car went off the track, taking Raikkonen with him. This incident cost Hamilton his first penalty of the race. It also demoted him to behind Massa at 6th position.
Hamilton tried to pass Massa during the second lap, which resulted in a collision between the two. This time it was Massa who hit the brakes too late while trying to defend his position and tapped Hamilton’s car, causing the Englishman to spin as he re-entered the track. Hamilton had to wait for the rest of the field to pass him before he was able to make a safe entry back onto the track. He was immediately called into the pits to replace his tires, which suffered damage from the spin and hard breaking.
The penalty this time was Massa’s for causing the collision. After receiving their penalties, the two were cast to the back of the pack. Hamilton was a few seconds behind Massa. Massa finished the race in eighth on the track but seventh in final standings after Sebastien Bourdais’ 25-second penalty was factored into the final standings.
When asked about his penalties, Hamilton stated, “I went wide at turn one; it was a mistake, and then Felipe hit me off. I went on the inside and he broke left and hit me pretty hard.” He also said, “What can I say? it was a bad day, I’ll move on to next week.”
Alonso vs. Kubica
Robert Kubica raced a hard race for first against Fernando Alonso. “Twelve points behind the leader with two races to go. Anything can happen,” Kubica said. His well-earned first position spot was lost to him during their first pit stop. Alonso risked the race by taking on less fuel during the final pit stop. Kubica finished the race in second position, only five seconds behind Alonso.
Kubica has made quite an impression this Formula One season. Race fans are anxiously anticipating his moves for the final two races of the season. Kubica currently has 72 points and is only 12 points behind Lewis Hamilton for the 2008 Championship title and just 6 points behind Felipe Massa. Kimi Raikkonen follows Kubica with 63 points and Nick Heidfeld, rounding out the top 5 with 56 points.
Championship Anxiety
The Formula One World Championship race is quickly coming to an end. With only two races left in the season, Lewis Hamilton’s lead fell to five points after his 12th position finish at the Japanese Grand Prix. The 2008 Formula One championship races have proven to be some of the most exciting races in Formula One’s history. Race fans, drivers and their teams are looking forward to the final two races of the season to see which driver emerges on top!

Keep Warm In The Outdoors With Mock Turtlenecks
By Victor Epand
The most important thing when spending time in the outdoors is staying warm and comfortable, and individuals can do just that with all the mock turtlenecks that now available on the market.
Most mock turtlenecks are made from fabric that is comfortable to the skin as well as are warm during chilly weather and will also keep them cool when the weather gets warmer. Mock turtlenecks were originally built as compression clothing items to keep athletes from muscle injury and to wick away sweat. Most mock turtlenecks are known as technical line of clothing and are made from a double-sided fabric that wicks moisture from the skin and circulates body heat.
Mock turtlenecks are the ideal cold weather base layer and are perfect for the working and waiting transitions that the outdoorsmen faces, such as walking to the treestand and sitting. You may be leery at how thin mock turtlenecks are and how well they will perform in cold weather, but once you have put one on and spent the day in a range of fifty degree weather, then your mind will definitely be at ease. I know that fifty degrees is far from “cold” to many people, but sighting in rifles is not exactly an active sport so the body has plenty of time to soak up the chilly air.
With just a t-shirt and a mock turtleneck on, you will be more than comfortable as you are waiting for that big game to appear. Most mock turtlenecks are made out of a micro-therm fabric, which delivers core temperature regulation and breathable comfort. Another aspect you will not expect from the fabric is its durability, because usually with any light-layer clothing of this nature, you end up with thread tears and the equivalent of “runs” that women get in their pantyhose.
If you are looking for a great undershirt for hunting or something cool to wear on those hot days, then check out the long-sleeved turtlenecks. They are also durable, comfortable, and the perfect companion to any active hunter. Hunting can be hard sometimes, so you might as well make yourself as comfortable as you can. If you are planning to spend a short time out hunting, then why would you carry along with you waterproof jackets, trousers, fleeces, or windproof jackets? All you simply have to do is put on a mock turtleneck and then you have the perfect base layer of clothing.
There are so many choices in colors to choose from when purchasing mock turtlenecks and they will help protect you from the elements outdoors. There are short sleeve mock turtlenecks to choose from that are designed to stay dry whenever you heat up as well as made to fit. There is also the long sleeve mock turtleneck that is designed to keep you dry no matter what the heat. There is also the mock tee turtleneck for anyone that loves a good tee, but also like a turtleneck, which is lightweight enough to ear in any type season and in any temperature. If you are wanting a heavier shirt, then the knit mock turtleneck may be what you need, especially for those cool days and chilly nights, which offer great protection to the arms when needed.
