(Sky diving) Skating not also for professional skaters but also for leisure
No commentsBy tug
Skating is both a hobby and professional sport that requires skill to master and flow smoothly on ice. For people who have a love and passion for it, it can prove rewarding as much as it can also be challenging. Most people participate in one of two categories of the activity, figure skating or hockey skating. Figure skating is more leisure driven but is also used in skill competitions where precision and skill on the ice are awarded large prizes. Hockey skating is more competitive and very different as it is a sport.
Riedell IS are made with more than 60 years of experience manufacturing skate blades for different purposes. Riedell’s IS blades also represent a strong brand within figure skating. Riedell makes ice skates specifically for the different needs and has a very strong reputation for figure IS.
When you take a close look at the skate movements on the ice within each of these two categories of skating, you will find that each category has a different boot design as well that is used. For the more graceful, figure skating, movements are timed and precise to ensure that there is an art formed on the ice that is both spectacular and mind blowing to watch. In hockey skating the opposite is true, movements are more momentum driven and fast paced, hockey skaters often come to sudden halts on the ice and this can sometimes look dangerous to achieve yet it is done time and again because it is part of the game of hockey. There are several companies that specialize in manufacturing ice skate boots for each skating category. Riedell’s is a company that hand builds its skates producing high quality ice skates for men, women, boys and girls of all ages. Riedell ice skates are built using a very sophisticated process that involves about 125 processes to ensure that its ice skates are of high quality.
According to most reviews on the internet, these ice skates are highly recommended for women. Riedell’s skates are made from very hard metal thus they are also durable and carry a good warranty. Riedell’s skates are available in several types and cover different roller disciplines such as Jam, Art, Derby, Speed, Rhythm and Outdoor. Because the ice skate industry is all about specialization rather than generalization, Riedell’s skates are great for leisure use and professional figure ice skating. There are several lines that cater for various needs, these lines are designed according to a skater’s level of skill and include Instructional, Competitive, Custom, Soft Series and Beginner/Recreational skates series. Each one of these skates is designed for a different skill level and come in 2 comfort levels, the LS style and the HS style, each style with a different level of comfort.
The advantage with riedell ice skates is that they are designed with soft feet in mind, Riedell’s skates are easier to use for longer periods of time as compared to skates designed for hockey players which are firm and designed to be used with more momentum. If you are on the market for a good pair of ice skates, you can check out Riedell’s ice skates for different age groups and shoe sizes.

Support your sports supports!

One of the most unglamorous sounding items in the field of sports training equipment has to be the sports supports. Unglamorous as they may be, they can at times be vital for both guarding against injuries and protecting existing ones from getting worse.
Sports supports come in all shapes and sizes but let’s have a quick look through the basic ones and see what they do.
Starting at the bottom, the ankle support helps to keep an ankle firm and helps to stop it twisting badly. Ankle injuries are one of the most common sporting injuries and a bad sprain can keep an athlete out for a long time and cause problems in the future too.
Knee supports protect against both twisting and the shock of falling on the knee or being hit. For many athletes the knees are one of the most vital things to protect.
Talking of protecting vital things… Compression shorts both keep a male’s genitals in place to stop them being bashed and at the same time help prevent chaffing on the thighs. They also help to keep the muscles warm to prevent muscle strain and fatigue. Individual thigh supports are also available for this latter purpose.
The elbow support, like the knee support helps to protect the elbow from nasty shocks and hits but also protects the joints somewhat.
The wrist support is useful in both stopping extended movement of the wrist which may well cause the wrist to be sprained and, if there is already a pre-existing wrist injury it will stop it getting any further damage.
Finally, there are various supports available for various fingers which can protect existing injuries by stopping the fingers from moving or protect fingers from being pulled out of place too much.
Sports supports may not seem to be important sports training equipment at all, but without them, a lot of sports people may not be able to train at all.
